  • Associate of Fine Arts in Acting for Film, New York Film Academy.Designed for individuals with a high school diploma or equivalent who desire to achieve a higher degree, but want to focus exclusively on acting, with a concentration on acting for film.
  • Conservatory Acting for Film (2 years), New York Film Academy. You will begin acting in front of the camera from the first week of the program. Every week, students get the opportunity to practice the techniques and skills they have gained in class with exercises that are shot and reviewed.

Animation.

Documentary.

  • Documentary Filmmaking, (1 year), New York Film Academy. Executive level editors and producers from HBO and Discovery, and multiple Academy Award, Peabody Award, Emmy Award and top festival winning filmmakers, producers, editors and cinematographers work with our documentary students in small, intimate Master Classes.
  • Evening Documentary Filmmaking, (1 year), New York Film Academy. offers the same intensive, hands-on immersion into Documentary filmmaking as the full-time program, but allows students to participate in the program part-time and spread their study over two-years.

  • Bachelor of Fine Arts in Filmmaking, New York Film Academy. Develop a powerful arsenal of skills in directing, screenwriting, cinematography, editing, and producing. Offered at Los Angeles campus at Universal Studios.
  • Associate of Fine Arts in Filmmaking, New York Film Academy. Students spend additional hours each week beyond classtime on the production of their film projects and projects of their classmates.
  • Filmmaking Conservatory Program. (2 years), New York Film Academy. You will focus on feature filmmaking as well as music video and commercial production during the second year.
  • Filmmaking (1 year), New York Film Academy. Students in the program receive over 1,000 hours of hands-on instruction and actual production experience. Intensive study in all the major filmmaking disciplines including cinematography, directing, screenwriting, producing, and editing.
  • Evening Filmmaking Program (1 year), New York Film Academy. From the first week, students begin an intensive sequence of classes in Film Directing, Screenwriting, 16mm Camera Technique, Lighting, Editing, Directing Actors and production Workshop.
  • Cinematography Program, (1 year), New York Film Academy. Students are introduced to the aesthetics of cinematography and begin shooting black and white film on 16mm Arriflex-S and color film stocks on the Arriflex SR and Panavision 35mm cameras.
  • Advanced Evening Filmmaking Program (1 year), New York Film Academy. From the first week, students begin an intensive sequence of classes in Film Directing, Screenwriting, 16mm Camera Technique, Lighting, Editing, Directing Actors and production Workshop.

Journalism and Mass Communications.

  • Broadcast Journalism (1 year), New York Film Academy. Intensive hands-on curriculum to address the pressing demand for multi-skilled, independent journalists on broadcast television, cable, and the Internet.

Producing.

  • Associate of Fine Arts in Producing, New York Film Academy. Allows students to focus exclusively on their professional and artistic development. Provides a creative setting with which to develop, challenge and inspire the talents of dedicated prospective producers in a total immersion, professional environment.
  • Producing for Film and TV (1 year), New York Film Academy. It is geared toward students with little or no experience in producing, but who recognize that an intensive and demanding program, much like the job of producing itself, will provide them with the knowledge they seek.

Screenwriting.

  • Associate of Fine Arts Screenwriting, New York Film Academy. In addition to learning the conventions of the writing craft, AFA students are given the support and structure to write and meet deadlines.
  • Bachelor of Fine Arts in Screenwriting, New York Film Academy. Students learn how to create great stories. Full complement of courses in the liberal arts and sciences designed to broaden the writers' education, feed their inquisitiveness, and give them the critical, analytical, and communication tools needed not just to be great writers, but also more fulfilled human beings.
  • Screenwriting, (1 year), New York Film Academy. Each student writes two feature length screenplays, plus one television "spec" script along with a number of treatments. Students explore related areas of filmmaking that help to improve their screenplays and put them into a real-world context.
