  • Certificate of Dental Assisting – Levels I and II (1 year), Algonquin College. Students gain expertise in radiography, laboratory skills, oral health education and promotion, business administration and maintenance of the practice environment.


  • Health Care Aide Certificate (4 months), Bow Valley College. Focuses on developing the core skills needed to care for clients in the health care field: personal care, assisting with mobility and feeding needs, communication, assisting with medication delivery, and clinical skills.

Medical Laboratory

  • Advanced Diploma in Medical Laboratory Science, St Lawrence College. This program is accredited by the Canadian Medical Association. The final year of the program occurs inside the laboratories of partner hospitals and private institutions and is arranged by the College.

Natural Therapies.

  • Advanced Diploma in Massage Therapy (3 years), Centennial College. Focuses on the assessment and hands-on treatment of the muscles, fascia and joints of the body to improve or maintain optimal physical health, function and mobility


  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree, Thompson Rivers University. The curriculum is based on health promotion and the ethic of caring. In addition to acute-care hospital experience, students will work in extended and intermediate care, public health, and community health agencies.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN), St Lawrence College. Offered in collaboration with Laurentian University. It will prepare graduates to practice as a Registered Nurse according to the entry-to-practice standards of the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Bachelor of Nursing (BScN), Centennial College. The program is offered in partnership with Ryerson University, Centennial College and George Brown College. Study: primary healthcare/ health promotion; reflective practice/critical thinking; meaningful relationships/ caring/ communication; political/ social justice; and personal/professional development.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Algonquin College. Offered in collaboration with the University of Ottawa. Students focus on the promotion maintenance and restoration of health and quality of life for individuals, families and communities.
  • Practical Nurse Diploma (2 years), Bow Valley College. Upon successful completion of the Practical Nurse Diploma Program and the Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Exam (CPNRE), graduates will be eligible for licensure with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA).
  • Practical Nursing Diploma (2 years), Algonquin College. Prepares students with the knowledge and skills to work as a practical nurse in the health care system and to write the Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Examination in Ontario.
