Singapore is a city-state on one large and 59 small islands covering an area slightly smaller than New York City, located between Malaysia to the north and Indonesia to the south. This vibrant city is now a hub for trade, finance, shipping and investment, it is one of the most wired in Asia, its airport is consistently nominated best in the world, cuisine is rich and varied. Education is part of of this growth.
Singapore has four local universities, National University of Singapore (NUS), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore Management University (SMU), and Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD). In 2009 the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) was added to provide an industry-focused university education. A host of Leading international schools including INSEAD, University of Chicago Graduate School of Business, MIT, Stanford, NYU School of Law and Waseda University have either set up a campus or have joint programmes with local universities. Postgraduate in Singapore 

Qualifications and duration.

  • Master Degree. Generally 1 year or 16 months.
  • Doctoral studies. 3 years, depending on program and method.

Tuition fees.

  • International student tuition fees range from S$20,000 to S$30,000/year. Local student tuition fees range from S$7,500 to S$16,000 and for permanent residents, to S$22,500 depending on study area. For example, NUS fees.

Where will I live?

Undergraduate in Singapore

Qualifications and duration.

The following are some of the possibilities:

  • Articulation. Qualified graduates may receive advanced standing.
  • Fast-Track. Some Degrees are fast-tracked so that students may graduate in two years.
  • Degree. Three-year programmes.

Tuition fees.

  • International student tuition fees range from S$28,000 to S$33,000/year in addition to approximately S$350 corresponding to registration and miscellaneous fees. Fees for Singapore citizens range from S$9,750 to S$16,000 and for permanent residents S$19,500.
